Sourcefire Delivers 20 GBPS Intrusion Prevention Solution

COLUMBIA, Md., January 19, 2010  Sourcefire, Inc. (Nasdaq:FIRE), a leader in intelligent Cybersecurity solutions, today announced a new 20 gigabits per second (Gbps) Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) solution. By clustering two 10 Gbps 3D9900 Sensors, the Sourcefire 3D System can now support throughput up to 20 Gbps, delivering leading protection for high-speed enterprise and data center networks. Unlike competitive IPS clustering solutions, Sourcefire's 20 Gbps IPS cluster incorporates intelligent load balancing technology within each 3D9900 Sensor, eliminating the additional cost and complexity of external load balancing devices.

The new 3D9900 Sensor is optimized to support simultaneous execution of IPS, Real-time Network Awareness (RNA) and Real-time User Awareness (RUA) processes, and is available in two configurations - with four 10 Gbps SR fiber ports or twelve 1 Gbps copper ports. It can be deployed in inline or passive mode both at the edge and the data center to protect customers' most critical information and infrastructure. With up to 10 Gbps of throughput and fully redundant configurations, the 3D9900 meets the demanding requirements of today's largest networks.
