MILPITAS, Calif. -- Adaptec, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADPT), a global leader in storage solutions, today announced that it has broken through the performance barrier for network storage yet again with its latest Snap Server 650 that is optimized for extremely demanding data protection applications such as video surveillance, email database archive, performance-sensitive disk-based backup and long distance disaster recovery. With the same legendary ease-of-use and twice the performance of any other Snap Server, the 650 which scales to 64.2TB, can compete with many enterprise-class storage systems at a fraction of the cost and maintenance requirements.

The new Snap Server 650 leads the recently refreshed Snap Server by Adaptec product line that includes the following six models:

  • The Snap Server 110 and 210 are fixed capacity desktop systems designed for remote offices or workgroups and support up to 50 concurrent users, application servers or backup threads;

  • The Snap Server 410 and 510 are fixed capacity rack mount systems optimized for departmental use and support up to 125 concurrent users, application servers or backup threads;

  • The Snap Server 520 and 650 are scalable, high-performance rack mount systems for the central office and small/medium-sized enterprises and support up to 200 concurrent users, application servers or backup threads.
