Oceanport, NJ, December 14, 2009  CommVault has entered into a partnership with Informatica, the world's number one independent data integration provider according to the company, to deliver a fully integrated archiving solution that extends support to leading databases and applications, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel and other custom or legacy applications.

This new technology partnership will enable CommVault Simpana software customers to easily and efficiently archive large databases from mission-critical business applications, such as CRM and ERP systems, to better streamline eDiscovery and improve database space management.

As a result, Simpana software can help customers reduce the size of large databases to achieve a significant improvement in application performance while also minimizing the time and costs associated with performing different tasks, including backup, recovery, replication as well as routine application upgrades.

For eDiscovery and the search of structured data, Simpana software can also help customers to simplify the identification, collection and processing of evidence from structured data sources.

CommVault continues to leverage its single software platform to deliver comprehensive archiving capabilities, encompassing unstructured (e.g., file systems); semi-structured (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint and email); and now, with Informatica, structured information (e.g., databases).
