Mellanox announces 40Gbit/s InfiniBand networking solutions for high-performance and enterprise data center compute systems

SUNNYVALE, Calif. and YOKNEAM, Israel -- Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ:MLNX) (TASE:MLNX), a leading supplier of end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage, today announced that Dell has selected its performance-leading 40Gb/s InfiniBand ConnectX® I/O mezzanine adapter and M3601Q InfiniScale® IV-based blade switches for the Dell™ 11th generation PowerEdge M610 and M710 blade servers and blade switches for the PowerEdge M1000e-series Modular Blade Enclosures. The new Dell blade servers incorporate Intel’s recently announced Xeon® Processor 5500 Series (formerly codenamed “Nehalem”), fueling the need for high-performance InfiniBand networking to deliver new levels of systems productivity. According to Gartner*, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for blade server shipments from 2008 through 2013 is forecast to be 20.8%, and is expected to reach more than 2.5 million units in 2013, representing the highest-growing server form factor during that time.
