Seattle, Dec. 10 2009  Mozy, the industry-leading online backup service from Decho Corporation, an EMC Company (NYSE:EMC) , announced it is helping Cox Business deliver new value to customers by powering the new Cox Business Online Backup service, which launches today.

Cox Business provides voice, data and video services for nearly 250,000 small and regional businesses, including healthcare providers, K-12 and higher education, financial institutions and federal, state and local government organizations. Data protection is of critical importance to each of these markets, since theft, hardware failure or disaster can take an organization offline instantly.

"Cox Business is committed to offering best-in-class data services to our business customers," said Kristine Faulkner, vice president, product development and management, Cox Business. "As we look to deliver new value to our customers, Mozy's proven technology and ability to scale makes them the right partner for us to help protect our customers' precious data."

Cloud-based backup has emerged as a strategic feature for service and software providers who are looking to expand the value they can deliver to customers and the software industry. Cox Business joins an ecosystem of Mozy partners, including China Telecom, McAfee, and Vodafone, who have standardized on Mozy to power their online backup offerings. Mozy also serves more than 40,000 businesses directly via its MozyPro online backup service and protects more than 20 petabytes of customer information.

"Mozy's petabyte-class architecture is purpose-built to scale and handle the immense demands put on it by service providers, small businesses, and the over one million consumers that depend on us for secure, automatic online backup," said Harel Kodesh, CEO of Decho Corporation. "We're thrilled to have Cox Business choose Mozy to power its new Online Backup service."

Cox Business Online Backup will be offered to Cox Business Internet subscribers at no additional charge as part of its data services portfolio and also on an a la carte basis for companies not currently using Cox Business Internet. Businesses will receive between 2 GB and 10 GB of online backup storage space, based on their speed of Internet service and can purchase additional capacity if needed.

To activate Cox Business Online Backup, Cox Business Internet customers simply login to MyAccount, the Cox Business account management portal, to download software and select backup files and frequency preferences. Online Backup automatically saves duplicate copies of files hourly, daily, monthly and/or manually, providing businesses peace of mind that their data is secure. The new feature also allows businesses to view and download their files from any location with PC and Internet access.

Cox Business Online Backup includes 448-bit Blowfish local file encryption and copies are moved to the online backup servers using 128-bit SSL encryption, the industry standard for safe and secure data transfer. Backed-up files are stored and protected in Mozy data centers with 24/7/365 onsite monitoring and security, state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression systems and redundant power distribution units.
