April 23, 2009
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Peak 10, Inc., the leading independent data center operator and managed services provider, announced today the enhancement of its managed services portfolio with the addition of a new virtualized service. VirtualDR leverages Peak 10s virtualization services so that customers can implement reliable, cost-effective disaster recovery solutions in multiple data centers.
Peak 10’s VirtualDR product offers companies a software-based approach to replication. This solution enables full, differential or hybrid backups of customer owned or hosted virtual machines to dissimilar hardware in geographically redundant data centers. While Disaster Recovery and high availability solutions are complex and often require higher upfront costs, Virtual DR reduces the cost of the overall solution while enabling more productive use of existing system resources.
“VirtualDR is another example of how Peak 10 continues to develop its robust IT solutions by leveraging the latest technologies available to meet the need for more cost-effective disaster recovery solutions,” said Monty Blight, vice president of managed services for Peak 10. “With the increased scrutiny on capital expenditures and executives increasing their focus on the bottom line, companies seeking to enhance their business continuity practices can now do more with less costs using Peak 10’s VirtualDR.”
