SAN FRANCISCO -- Solarflare Communications, the leader in 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) silicon and reference designs, today announced that it will showcase its high-performance virtualization acceleration and standards-based 10GBASE-T solutions over copper Category 6A cabling at IDF, September 18-20, Moscone Center, San Francisco.

Solarflares demonstration will highlight the company’s virtualization acceleration hardware and software supporting line rate 10GbE. This enables the delivery of cost-effective bandwidth for intensive applications—such as streaming rich media, Web 2.0, data center virtualization and network convergence—that require the next level of Ethernet.

“Solarflare’s demonstration is the first to deliver wire-speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet in a virtualized server environment,” said Bruce Tolley, vice president of marketing for Solarflare. “Our 10GbE products make it easy and cost-effective to implement 10GBASE-T solutions in the virtualized data center without sacrificing performance thereby supporting a variety of next generation applications.”
