ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- UST GlobalSM (UST), a leading provider of IT services and solutions for Global 1000 enterprises, announced a strategic partnership with Netezza Corporation (NYSE Arca: NZ), the global leader in data warehouse and analytic appliances, to deliver competitive business solutions. UST will develop new analytic domain solutions in its Business Intelligence (BI)/Data Warehouse (DW) practice that will be designed on top of Netezza’s data warehouse appliance for Global 1000 enterprises.

The partnership will be especially beneficial to companies in data intensive industries such as retail, healthcare, life sciences and online businesses, where there is an increasing demand to quickly convert vast data pools into competitive intelligence. The solutions developed by UST will help these companies address data warehousing challenges that arise as their data sets keep growing. Those challenges include:

Faster turnaround. Large data sets require more complex analysis and often contain high-dimensional data sets, which delays users from getting the information they need to make intelligent decisions in a timely manner.

Scalability. The ability to scale via an appliance reduces the implementation time.

Enterprises facing these challenges are looking for a cost-effective alternative that can keep pace with their analysis demands. Many of these enterprises are moving toward data warehouse appliances to augment or replace traditional solutions because data warehouse appliances speed up the acquisition of business intelligence.Data warehouse appliances are far simpler to install and maintain than a typical database server that requires storage infrastructure. With a superior performance, reduced maintenance and lower total cost, data warehouse appliances are a viable and increasingly popular alternative.

“Organizations are looking to gain a competitive edge by accessing useful and timely intelligence from their ever expanding volumes of data,” said Jit Saxena, chairman and CEO, Netezza Corporation. “By partnering Netezza’s data warehouse appliance with UST Global’s well-established Business Intelligence (BI) and data management practice, enterprises will have faster access to business value without having to worry about managing their data.”
