Vector Data announces the first NetApp-powered NEBS Level 3 certified unified SAN and NAS storage device

EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Vector Data announced the official release of the Vault 2050 NEBS today, a unified SAN and NAS NEBS device designed for space and power savings in Telco Central Office environments. Featured by Vector Data at this week’s Verizon NEBS 2008 Conference, the Vault 2050 NEBS device is a NEBS Level 3 Certified storage system built on proven NetApp® technology. With twice the rack density as competitive products, the Vault 2050 NEBS offers low power consumption without impacting its high-performance functionality.

Vector Data is a NetApp Embedded Systems Vendor, and the Vault 2050 NEBS runs on NetApp’s Data ONTAP® operating system which features RAID DP™ (RAID 6) data protection. This robust storage appliance supports NetApp’s full suite of software including their Snapshot™ technology, SnapMirror®, SnapRestore®, SnapVault®, FlexVol® and FlexClone®. Other platforms supported by the Vault 2050 NEBS include Windows®, UNIX, Linux, AIX, HP-UX, Mac OS and VMware® ESX. Environmental monitoring and notifications are also available with the Vault 2050 NEBS.
