Emulex 8-Gbit/s HBAs enable record performance in TPC benchmark, utilizing IBM System x servers and Microsoft SQL Server 2008

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that its LightPulse(r) 8Gb/s Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) enabled a new record-level Transaction Processing Performance Council (TPC) benchmark. The Emulex LPe12000 8Gb/s HBAs, coupled with the IBM System x 3850 M2 server, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008, provides the industry-leading system configuration that produced a 14 percent increase in the total number of transactions performed per second over a similar test conducted in 2007.
