PASADENA, Calif. -- Guidance Software Inc. (NASDAQ: GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations, today announced that Verizon (NYSE: VZ), a leader in delivering broadband and other wireline and wireless communication innovations to mass market, business, government and wholesale customers, has signed an agreement to use EnCase® eDiscovery on a Pay-Per-Use basis.

InsideCounsel magazine named Verizon as one of the ten most innovative legal teams of 2007 because of Verizon’s electronic discovery expertise. Patrick Oot, Director of Electronic Discovery and Senior Litigation Counsel at Verizon, said, “Guidance Software’s EnCase eDiscovery provides compelling technology for search, collection, preservation, processing, and load file creation. And the Pay-Per-Use option allows us to pay for the technology on a per-case basis, which is our preferred method of paying for electronic discovery.”
