IBM has launched an identity management package that builds on a new Information Security Framework, the company announced Tuesday.

Identity Management Services (IDMS) includes end-to-end features, including identity proofing, user provisioning and access control. The offering, announced Tuesday, promises to reduce the number of systems involved in identity management, increase efficiency of access control, improve productivity, and help meet regulatory compliance requirements.

IDMS, uses identity management products and technologies from IBM Tivoli, and business partners, including ActivIdentity, ADT Security Services, Axalto, Cogent Systems, Encentuate, Exostar, GE Security, Lenovo, Passlogix, Verisign and Viisage. It also includes briefings, assessments, and workshops. IDMS can be deployed as a set of integrated solutions or as individual components.

IBM's new Information Security Framework simplifies and speeds planning and execution of security programs. It provides best practices and covers eight core areas. They include governance, privacy, threat mitigation, transaction and data integrity, identity and access management, application security, physical security and personnel security.
