QLogic joins Microsoft Interop vendor alliance; 2 companies aim to streamline SAN performance for global 2000 businesses

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- QLogic Corp.(Nasdaq:QLGC), a leader in networking for storage and high performancecomputing (HPC), today announced its membership in the Interop VendorAlliance (IVA), a community of software and hardware vendors workingtogether to enhance interoperability with Microsoft systems. Throughthe Interop Alliance, QLogic builds on its longstanding collaborationwith Microsoft to simplify storage area networks (SANs). QLogic andMicrosoft will be working together to enhance interoperability withQLogic end-to-end SAN products and Microsoft platforms, streamliningstorage network installations and improving SAN performance for Global2000 businesses.

"The addition of QLogic to the Interop Alliance gives additionalcredence to the program," said Sam Rosenbalm, interop vendor alliancemanager, Microsoft. "Together with the other alliance members, we havethe opportunity to work with customers to identify their topinteroperability challenges such as systems management, virtualization,identity management, data integration, and storage management to name afew."
