SonicWALL Inc. has signed an agreement with SilverBack Technologies Inc. to provide its managed security services program (MSSP) channel partners with a framework for security services offerings.

Under the partnership, SonicWALL's MSSP participants will be able to use Silverback's IT and security monitoring software to manage their customer's networks from a central point. Silverback's Datacenter is an integrated solution that allows value-added resellers and system integrators to easily offer managed services and monitor multiple clients.

SonicWALL offers its MSSP partners a wide range of services, support and specially-designed and priced hardware, software and services bundles. By bundling Silverback's software with its own security appliances, SonicWALL hopes to provide its managed service provider partners with a model that permits the mass simultaneous delivery and customization of relatively low-cost security services to the small and mid-sized business market.

"The constantly-changing security landscape is the biggest pain point driving the need for managed services, but there is also unmet demand for solutions that extend beyond security to all devices," SonicWALL president and CEO Matthew Medeiros said in a statement. "Many of SonicWALL's channel partners sell a full range of networking and security solutions. SilverBack's technology will give our MSSP partners the ability to sell tailored IT reporting and monitoring services to dozens or even hundreds of customers simultaneously."
