SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Xsigo Systems, Inc.,the technology leader in data center I/O virtualization, todayannounced it has successfully completed interoperability testingacross a wide range of HP storage and server products.
Broad interoperability is a significant and unique benefit of Xsigo'stechnology. Unlike proprietary systems that were designed aroundsingle-vendor hardware and software, the Xsigo I/O Director wasdesigned to be interoperable across a range of multi-vendorsolutions. Last week Xsigo announced it successfully achieved IBMinteroperability certification and has now completed similar testingto prove HP interoperability.
HP interoperability testing was conducted over a period of four weeksat HP's Partner Technology Alliance Center in Cupertino, California. The test suite included 42 separate hardware and software tests, manyrunning under strenuous conditions for 72 hours continuously. Thetests replicated all phases of operation, including installation, management and maintenance. Scalability and performance testing werealso incorporated to simulate the most demanding enterpriseenvironments. Test result details can be viewed at www.xsigo.com.
"Xsigo products complement HP solutions by enabling a faster, morecost effective approach to server connectivity," said AshokKrishnamurthi, CEO and chairman, Xsigo Systems. "With this testing,Xsigo has demonstrated that our approach to open standards letscustomers boost data center utilization and cut costs withmulti-vendor solutions across servers, blade systems, storage, andnetworking."
HP enterprise products tested include:
HP StorageWorks Arrays (MSA 1000, EVA 8000)
HP ProLiant Servers (DL380, DL585)
HP ProLiant c-Class BladeSystem c7000/BL460C
HP StorageWorks SAN Switch (4/16, 4/32)
HP Multi-Path Software (StorageWorks Secure Path)
Xsigo Systems recently launched the Xsigo VP780 I/O Director, one ofthe first I/O virtualization products targeting I/O problems intoday's large data centers. Xsigo's technology overcomes thelimitations of traditional server connectivity by consolidatingcabling and by replacing multiple physical network and storageinterfaces (NICs and HBAs) with virtual resources that appear toapplications and operating systems exactly as their physicalcounterparts.
