LOS ANGELES, July 19. Awareness Technologies, the makers of InterGuard - the only SaaS-based Unified Insider Threat Protection Platform, covering data loss prevention (DLP), web filtering, employee monitoring and laptop recovery, today announced that it has acquired LegiTime, a mobile technology company. LegiTime's technology extends Awareness clients' ability to monitor and block transmission of confidential data to smartphones. Support for RIM BlackBerry devices is due later this month and will initially be focused on recording inbound and outbound SMS. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Mobile devices are becoming a primary access point for business information and our clients depend on us to fully monitor and control their sensitive data," said Brad Miller, CEO and Chairman of Awareness Technologies. "We've reviewed a number of technologies that would let us extend our platform to mobile devices and LegiTime's was a perfect foundation." Interguard's unique endpoint architecture and SaaS platform are ideally suited for mobile devices, which can now be controlled and reports accessed through the same User Interface.

"DLP on the desktop alone is no longer sufficient and this is a perfect complement to our existing solution," said Ron Penna, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of Awareness Technologies. "Smartphones are rapidly becoming the primary communication device in the workplace."

Over 10,000 companies already use Awareness Technologies' SaaS-based Unified Insider Threat Protection Platform, with a tally of more than 200,000 total users. Users can be up and running on Awareness's service within minutes due to a client-based, rather than network-centric, architecture. By building its solutions around the endpoint rather than the network, Awareness is able to deliver next generation DLP, web filtering, employee monitoring and laptop recovery with unmatched visibility, control and ease-of-use. As such, Awareness has experienced rapid growth - being named to Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 list in Nov, 2008.
