RENO, Nev., May 12. Server Technology, the industry leader for Power Distribution Unit Monitoring and Management Solutions, today announced a comprehensive integration of Sentry Power Manager (SPM), Sentry Smart and Switched Power Distribution Units (PDUs) with Modius OpenData, the comprehensive management software solution for centralized data center monitoring and analysis. As part of this integration, the two vendors have jointly integrated the complete line of intelligent power distribution devices individually, as well as via Server Technology's aggregation appliance SPM V4.2 solution into Modius's OpenData v3.2 system using Server Technology's Application Programming Interface (API).

"Customers are facing management pressures in the data center like never before. Power costs continue to rise while power availability decreases, making efficiency a huge part of the equation. The combination of Server Technology at the power distribution level and Modius for enterprise-wide monitoring allows mutual customers to derive tremendous value in the comprehensive collection of physical metrics like power monitoring across the entire IT infrastructure as well as the presentation and analysis of this information to create action," said Server Technology President Brandon Ewing.

"With the movement today toward simplification and accountability across the data center, it is imperative for companies like ServerTech and Modius to work together to form comprehensive actionable solutions for the Enterprise. We are thrilled to be working with ServerTech in the delivery of these solutions that ultimately help our mutual customers manage costly power resources," said Craig Compiano, CEO of Modius.

Server Technology offers a wide range of cabinet power distribution monitoring and management solutions for the data center, including Per Outlet Power Sensing (POPS) devices that can monitor power at the device level and Per Inlet Power Sensing (PIPS) devices that can accurately monitor the power in-feed information, replacing branch circuit monitoring at the Remote Power Panel (RPP). The Modius Technical Alliance Program today includes certified connectivity to hundreds of product lines from a similar number of vendors. Any vendor of IT or facilities equipment may apply for membership in the Modius TAP program. Doing so ensures that metrics-gathering hardware and software works together seamlessly.
