SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BCSI), the leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that Jefferson County Public Schools, the largest school district in Colorado, has deployed Blue Coat ProxySG® appliances and Blue Coat WebFilter software to manage Web usage, accelerate content and applications, reduce bandwidth consumption and protect against malware for its 150 school locations and 80,000 students in Jefferson County, Colorado.

“Since our school district, like most others, depends on the Internet for enhanced instruction, resources and communication, we needed a solution that would provide easily managed security and control while not impeding the speed of access,” said Joe Murdock, senior security engineer, Jefferson County Public Schools. “Blue Coat appliances provide the protection and controls we need, and simultaneously accelerate acceptable content while reducing overall bandwidth consumed. It’s a solution that brings the best of both worlds to us.”
