SAN FRANCISCO -- SEPATON, Inc., the leader in high-performance data protection solutions, today announced at Oracle OpenWorld 2006 that its award-winning S2100R-ES2 Virtual Tape Library (VTL) system has attained certification as fully compatible with OracleR Secure Backup, tape backup management software that delivers secure, high performance network tape backup for Oracle Databases and file systems. The combined solution, which is being demonstrated this week (October 22-26) in booth #2612 South Hall, enables customers to significantly increase their backup and restore performance leveraging world-class Oracle network tape backup software.

Oracle Secure Backup provides an integrated, easy-to-use backup solution that encrypts data to tape to safeguard against the misuse of sensitive data in the event that backup tapes are lost or stolen. It offers high performance and a virtually seamless support for advanced Oracle features such as Oracle Recovery Manager, Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle Automatic Storage Management and Oracle Data Guard.

Enterprises deploying Oracle's database and application solutions benefit from Oracle software to help power storage management, backup and recovery, while also accommodating high-availability applications that demand large amounts of storage. When combined with Oracle Secure Backup, SEPATON's S2100 provides a flexible, scalable data protection solution that can backup an Oracle Database more than 10 times faster than traditional tape drives. This means backup administrators can reduce their organization's exposure in a disaster recovery situation.

"Qualifying the S2100-ES2 for use with Oracle Secure Backup provides customers with trusted, high-performance data protection solutions for their networked storage environments, enabling advanced storage management and high availability," said Miklos Sandorfi, chief technology officer, SEPATON, Inc. "This milestone kicks-off our relationship with Oracle, and ensures delivery of best-in-class storage solutions to some of the world's most data-intensive enterprise customers."
