(www.silver-peak.com), a leading provider of scalable Wide Area Network (WAN) acceleration solutions, and Double-Take Software (NasdaqGM:DBTK - News), a leading provider of data protection solutions, today announced a partnership to ensure secure real-time replication, backup and recovery in high capacity WAN environments. The two companies are pursuing joint sales, marketing and interoperability testing efforts to help enterprises improve business continuity and disaster recovery across geographically disperse locations.

Data protection products, such as Double-Take from Double-Take Software, can be adversely affected by inherent WAN limitations, including bandwidth, high latency and packet loss. To combat these restrictions, Silver Peak's NX Series of WAN acceleration appliances uses disk based data reduction to eliminate over 90 percent of traffic traversing the WAN, as well as various TCP acceleration, loss mitigation, and Quality of Service (QoS) techniques to accelerate WAN performance. The combined Silver Peak and Double-Take Software solution delivers 10 to 30 times average improvements in replication and recovery times. This enables enterprises to better achieve their desired Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), while maximizing investments in data protection, storage and networking infrastructure.
