AirMagnet Adds Remote Wireless Analysis for Cisco

AirMagnet is rolling out a new software-based wireless analysis solution designed specifically to monitor Cisco Systems' Unified Wireless Network equipment.

The Enterprise Analyzer for Cisco collects data from Cisco's lightweight access points for real-time analysis and reporting. The vendor says the product can also deliver the information to performance optimization tools as well.The solution, which works only with Cisco's lightweight APs, gathers live traffic data from all network segments and APs, and then sends the data back to the Enterprise Analyzer for an assessment and alarm generation. AirMagnet says the Enterprise Analyzer can collect data from any Cisco lightweight AP, including remote locations.

AirMagnet's Enterprise Analyzer uses the company's intelligence engine to assess the wireless environment for more than 130 wireless factors including signal, noise, and interference issues, even channel or AP congestion. The data is then reported to a graphical user interface.

Companies like IT consulting provider INS say the new analysis solution will help them diagnose problems in any part of their clients' WLANs in order to improve network performance.

The solution, currently available, starts at $9,995 for three controllers and one company license.
