Microsoft Offers Security Webcasts For Developers

On the heels of a two week run of MyDoom -- the worm pegged as the Internet's most pervasive attack ever -- Microsoft has dubbed Feb. 16 - 20 as "Developer Security Webcast Week."

Touting the five-day series of online seminars and tutorials as a way to "address the most important and newly emerging security issues surrounding developers," Microsoft has Webcasts scheduled on topics ranging from computer crime and conducting corporate security reviews to stopping application hacks and creating a single sign-on portal

"These webcasts are designed to help developers write applications that are resistant to security attacks," said Microsoft in a statement on the accompanying Web site.

Although some may look askance at the idea of getting advice from the Redmond, Wash.-based developer during times when its products are hammered by worm writers and its operating systems are plagued by vulnerabilities, developers who want to participate in the Webcasts can find a complete schedule here.
