VIENNA, Va. -- Acumen Solutions, a leading business and technology consulting firm and KTA Group, an engineering design and consulting firm, announced today the availability of a unique Data Center Energy Audit with a savings guarantee. The Data Center Energy Audit includes an evaluation of both the facilities, electrical, heating & cooling as well as an assessment of the equipment, the network and the applications that run across them to provide a comprehensive set of recommendations about how to either reduce power consumption and its associated costs or to grow within an existing set of real estate or energy constraints.

A recent study by Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Self Benchmarking Guide for Data Center Energy Performance, revealed that in a typical data center installation an average of 33% of the total power goes to IT Equipment. The rest is consumed by cooling (50%), the power system (9%), and lighting (8%). Research has shown that many data centers operate far below their achievable efficiency, resulting in significant and unnecessary energy spend.

The energy audits Acumen Solutions and KTA perform are far more practical and holistic than any others we’ve seen in the industry,” says Shally Bansal Stanley, Managing Director of Global Services at Acumen Solutions. “They give companies the big picture and a broad spectrum of options enabling them to save money faster and more efficiently. The Data Center Energy Audit, enables Fortune 500 or large federal or state agencies to identify reductions in energy consumption, one of the quickest ways to ‘green’ the data center and hence the enterprise.”
