WEST KINGSTON, R.I. -- APC, part of thecritical power and cooling services business unit of SchneiderElectric, today announced the availability of its latest data centeroffering, the NetShelter(R) SX 1200 mm Deep Enclosure, a complementto its existing NetShelter(R) SX enclosures. All APC enclosures helpmanage and protect equipment in a reliable rack-mount environment forhigh density server and networking applications.

"With deeper servers and larger volumes of cable, companies arecontinuously looking for ways to maximize space in their enclosures,"said Pat Johnson, vice president, Rack and Cooling Solutions, APC-MGE."With the NetShelter(R) SX 1200 mm Deep Enclosure, customers now havea model that is 130mm (5") deeper than the standard 1070mm deepenclosure."

The NetShelter(R) SX 1200 mm Deep Enclosure offers an innovativecable management design, including an additional pair of cablechannels at the rear of the enclosure to enable organization of morepower and data cables. These rear cable channels also offeradditional room at the back of the enclosure to mount powerdistribution and enable the mounting of as many as four vertical rackpower distribution units (PDUs) on one side of the enclosure. Inaddition, the rear cable channels neatly dress cables and keep PDUsaway from cable management arms.

The NetShelter(R) SX 1200 mm Deep Enclosure also maintains anenhanced roof, utilizing the same design as the standard enclosureroof, but with larger cable openings along the sides. This designimproves cable access, while an enlarged center rear opening allowsfor better routing and management of large bundles of cable.

"As data centers continue to grow with technology investments and ITprocessing power, the NetShelter(R) SX 1200 mm Deep Enclosure helpsaddress the growth needs of companies by delivering feature sets thatessentially future proof the data center," added Johnson. "The newenclosure addresses many of the problems customers face today, including changes in the server environment, particularly the changesin server dimensions and their effect on cable management and spaceconstraints."American Power Conversion Corp.
