APC Offers Single-Rack UPS for Data Centers

American Power Conversion announced a new single-rack uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and power distribution solution designed to shorten design and installation time for data centers.

Officials say the InfraStruXure 20kw system is based on a configure-to-order approach that also uses a standardized architecture that allows scaling to meet future requirements. The single-rack design is to conserve space in data centers and server rooms. Officials say the unit's redundancy features, such as no single point of failure, make it suited for server consolidation initiatives.

Other features of the unit include integrating cabling and cooling to eliminate raised floor requirements, a locking enclosure for security and analysis and remote monitoring capabilities.
