CAMPBELL, Calif. -- APTARE, Inc., provider of web-based data protection management software, today announced APTAREStorageConsole(R) Managed Services Edition. The software enables resellers and managed service providers to offer customers real time backup reporting and active management for VERITAS NetBackup(TM) and IBM Tivoli(R) Storage Manager as a managed service.

Users of APTARE StorageConsole Managed Services Edition will have access to the same powerful features as APTARE StorageConsole 5.1 Enterprise Edition.Using the centralized, web-based portal, storage administrators can increase the integrity of their data protection by being able to quickly identify unprotected data, improve capacity planning, increase performance, and provide compliance with audits and legal discovery.

The new features in APTARE StorageConsole Managed Services Edition help streamline the process for resellers as they offer the software as an additional managed service to their customers. The new features include:

  • A customer-provisioning interface helps resellers and managed service providers easily provision and manage their customers and their data, regardless of the environment's size or number of locations.

  • Flexible branding templates allow resellers and managed service providers to apply their own company branding to the APTARE StorageConsole portal. This enables them to integrate the APTARE StorageConsole service into their existing line of branded services offerings.

  • Annual subscription pricing minimizes overhead for resellers and managed service providers as they offer low-cost service subscriptions to their customers.

  • APTARE will also host the portal for authorized managed service providers, eliminating the upfront costs of hardware and managing a secure Internet portal.

"APTARE StorageConsole was designed from day one as a managed service platform," said Richard Clark, president and CEO of APTARE. "As storage infrastructures become increasingly complex, enterprises are outsourcing their storage needs to trusted advisors like GlassHouse Technologies. This new edition of APTARE StorageConsole makes it even easier for managed service providers to offer our product as a service. We're committed to developing products that enable managed service providers like GlassHouse to deliver best-in-class storage services to their customers."
