Brocade Exec Named to SHARE Board

Brocade announces appointment of mainframe expert Steve Guendert to SHARE board of directors

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD - News), the leader in networked storage solutions that help enterprises connect and manage their information, today announced that Steve Guendert, Principal Engineer of mainframe solutions at Brocade, has been appointed to the SHARE Board of Directors and will serve as the board's Director of Information Technology for a one-year term. SHARE Inc. is an independent, volunteer-run association providing IBM customers with user-focused education, professional networking, and industry influence.

Guendert has 17 years of management and hands-on experience in a wide variety of high-technology environments, including nuclear engineering, electronic warfare systems, and information technology. He is recognized industry-wide as an expert on ESCON, FICON®, and mainframe I/O and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, Computer Measurement Group (CMG) events, and SHARE. Guendert is also a published author of more than 20 papers on mainframe I/O and FICON, is a member of the IEEE Standards Association, and is currently finishing his PhD dissertation on Enterprise I/O Subsystems and High-Availability, Resilient Architectures.
