One of the biggest challenges that the data center manager has today is convincing his own management that data is valuable. Data center managers also have to be prepared for anything.

In the last few years we have been designing disaster recovery plans and making certain assumptions about the scale and duration of disasters but since 9/11, the East Coast power outage, the London blackouts, and who knows what other accidental or deliberate disasters, are these assumptions valid?
