As we near the end of September, it's the end of the quarter for many software vendors. It's a great time to ask them to sharpen their pencils and make a deal if you're in the market for APO tools. With a lot of corporate consolidation, the spending spree for products has slowed. This has resulted in software salespeople working to meet aggressive numbers by the end of the quarter. If you're in the market for some additional software products, now is the time to pull out your corporate checkbook and take a hard look at making the purchase. Make sure that you can actually meet the commitments to purchase the software and get them a purchase order by Sept. 30. After that magic date, all bets are off.
