SAN FRANCISCO -- FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the market leader in disk-based data protection solutions, has partnered with SeaChange International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading provider of mission-critical storage systems, to offer an extremely high-density, high-performance, and flexible storage solution for small- and medium-sized business and enterprise data storage markets. The solution is powered by the award-winning FalconStor IPStor® virtualization platform and SeaChange’s Drawer of Drives storage platform, and supports up to 504 terabytes of storage in a single rack footprint.

The density, performance and scalability of this FalconStor/SeaChange combination are unprecedented in a product of this size. The flexibility of the FalconStor IPStor platform enables users to take advantage of the Drawer of Drives’ capacity to mix any combination of SAS and SATA II hard drives using only one tray. The available solutions include FalconStor Continuous Data Protection (CDP), which provides the fastest, most granular data recovery available across all heterogeneous storage devices, as well as FalconStor’s industry leading VirtualTape Library (VTL) with Single Instance Repository (SIR) for de-duplication, which leverages disk to emulate industry standard tape libraries.

“The combination of FalconStor CDP and VTL software products with SeaChange’s Drawer of Drives storage platform creates a highly available storage solution designed for enterprise applications involving massive quantities of data,” said Bernie Wu, Vice President for Business Development at FalconStor. “FalconStor software and Drawer of Drives will operate as an open system to support any file format, network and application.”
