Fujitsu Computer Systems on Tuesday introduced a four-way SCSI-based server blade designed for corporate data centers and Internet service providers.
Each blade in the Primergy BX600 can accommodate up to four Intel Xeon MP processors, 16GB of DDR-SDRAM memory, and two hot-plug Ultra320 SCSI hard drives. The server also includes Primergy ServerView Management Suite, software for installing and configuring the system.
Fujitsu's BX600 supports Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Linux.
The chassis can hold up to five four-way blades or as many as 10 two-way blades, said Fujitsu, and since the different blades fit in the same chassis, they can be mixed and matched in a single unit.
Available now, the BX600 is priced starting at under $18,000 for a chassis with a single four-way blade. Additional four-way blades start at $8,500.
