MINNEAPOLIS -- Ontrack Data Recovery, the industry’s leading data recovery provider, today announced it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Geek Squad and Best Buy Co., Inc. to provide specialized training and custom diagnostic tools for the diagnosis and recovery of customer data.

Ontrack’s assessment tool BARDS (Basic Assessment and Recovery Diagnostic System) has been customized to the specifications of Geek Squad, and will be deployed to analyze customer data problems and identify recovery options. Agents at Geek Squad Precincts in all Best Buy Stores will assess the health of a customer’s computer hard drive. Data recovery will be performed by specially trained Agents at computer repair center Geek Squad City, a secure facility in Louisville, Ky.

Ontrack also will supply Geek Squad with its highly popular, do-it-yourself recovery tool, EasyRecovery™, as well as ongoing training and maintenance.
