DALLAS -- Effective immediately, Media Recovery's name has been changed to DataSpan, with a new brand identity focused on storage media solutions.

The new name and identity realign the company's position as a leader in data storage products and services, with more than 35 years of experience and expertise. Gerard Smith, president and CEO of MRI, the parent company of DataSpan, recently addressed this name change. "Our old name, Media Recovery, caused a great deal of confusion in the market about what we do. Over the years, many companies have contacted us looking for help recovering data from damaged hard drives. Our new name, DataSpan, reflects our clients' most valuable asset, their data, and how we will help them store, access and protect their data throughout its entire lifespan."
