FREMONT, Calif. -- Mendocino Software today announced that InfiniView, the industry’s only enterprise-class continuous data protection (CDP) solution, now supports VMware ESX Server, Version 3 and higher. By offering InfiniView’s “one button” instant recovery capability for use with virtualized servers running on ESX Server, Mendocino is offering faster, simpler recovery that will help to maximize the overall availability of VMware environments.

“Through our OEM partners such as HP, Mendocino’s technology is being placed in Fortune 1000 companies to help optimize the recovery, administration and maintenance operations for mission critical application environments,” said Steve Colman, President and CEO of Mendocino Software. “More and more, we are seeing these types of customers using VMware and asking about instant recovery capabilities for virtualized environments.”

By adding platform support for VMware, Mendocino now supports a variety of operating system environments, including Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, and Linux. “We were looking for a scalable solution to provide us with secure, unlimited access to copies of production data from our mission critical applications without impacting business operations,” said Jeff Rochlin, information technology executive at a major West Coast-based company in the entertainment and media industry. “InfiniView can support multiple heterogeneous servers, storage, and applications, enabling us to move in the direction of a single, centralized data access utility that provides this access, spanning all of our major open systems environments.”
