SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP), a leading provider of storage and data management solutions, today announced the company has joined The Green Grid, a nonprofit, technology-driven consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems.

The Green Grid is chartered to develop meaningful, platform-neutral standards, measuring methods, processes, and new technologies. Membership in The Green Grid is open to IT industry professionals, particularly data center managers and IT operations executives, with an interest in addressing global energy consumption issues.
