CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Neterion, the industry leader in the 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter
market for server and storage environments, today announced Intransa, the global leader of scalable,
network-centric IP storage solutions, has selected Neterions Xframe® 10 GbE adapters for inclusion
into its new StorStac Storage System PCU100 10GbE flagship product.
The 10GbE StorStac Storage System PCU100 delivers unprecedented IP scalability and 10GbE performance for content rich applications such as digital content and streaming data
applications including video on-demand, IPTV, digital imaging, video surveillance and data
mining.
Neterion's Xframe® II and Xframe® E 10 GbE adapters provide the support for Intransa’s
StorSac Storage System scalability and performance advantages. Members of the Neterion’s VNIC
™ family, each featuring Hyperframe™ technology, are the only line of 10 GbE adaptersdesigned for I/O virtualization from the ground up, allowing end-to-end integration in virtualized
environments such as VMware. Xframe II is a PCI-X 2.0 adapter that doubles the data rate of the
earlier bus standard (PCI-X 1.0). Xframe E offers PCI-express connectivity, the next-generation I/O
bus standard that is rapidly gaining market adoption in storage and server markets. Both products
are included in Intransa’s StorStac System PCU100 as 10GbE iSCSI host bus adapters (HBAs) onthe target side.
“We are extremely pleased to be selected by Intransa as their iSCSI target solution,” stated
Dave Zabrowski, president and CEO of Neterion. “Intransa’s innovative architecture, combined
with our market leadership and experience with 10 GbE will enable data center managers to deploy
an IP-based 10 GbE SAN, while preserving the existing investment in their network infrastructure.”“Neterion’s technology offers the greatest flexibility and the easiest integration into our IP
SAN environment. From a customer benefit standpoint it was a logical choice for inclusion into
Intransa’s StorStac System PCU100,” said Bud Broomhead, president and CEO of Intransa.
