SAN FRANCISCO, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Splunk today announced the general availability of the Splunk for WebSphere App and new Splunk for Application Management service packages. The Splunk for WebSphere App simplifies and accelerates how customers get value from Splunk in IBM WebSphere application server environments, and provides built-in performance, security and configuration tracking and troubleshooting views. Now, all Splunk users can have a turn-key experience that enables them to quickly gain deep visibility into WebSphere logs, configurations and performance metrics.

"We've seen passionate Splunk customers use the core Splunk engine to monitor and troubleshoot their most complex and mission-critical custom applications," said Christina Noren, senior vice president of Splunk solutions and product management. "With the new Splunk for WebSphere App, we're productizing some of the work that many of our customers commonly do in their WebSphere environments, so they don't have to. With the new application management services packages, we are providing the know-how to customize Splunk for large-scale, distributed application management problems like transaction tracing, performance monitoring, operational insights and business-level analytics."

Splunk is widely used in custom and packaged application environments, including many different types of web servers, application servers, enterprise service buses and databases. IBM WebSphere is the leading application server brand and is widely deployed across the Splunk customer base. "The Splunk for WebSphere App makes it easy for us to demonstrate value to our customers," said John Jenkins, vice president at Perficient, an IBM and Splunk partner. "It's a great starting point for complex application environments and not only helps us quickly deliver results, but allows us to nimbly extend Splunk usage to other application components."

A free download of the combined Splunk and WebSphere App is available for download. The Splunk for Application Management service packages consist of design and deployment services that build on deep Splunk experience for application management scenarios across many industries and technologies.
