Emulex announced that the new Intel quad-core storage server utilizes Emulex 4-Gbit/s family of LightPulse HBAs for SAN connectivity

CHICAGO -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX - News) today announced that the new Intel quad-core storage server utilizes Emulex 4Gb/s family of LightPulse(r) HBAs for SAN connectivity. Designed to deliver leading price/performance for the small- and medium-sized business (SMB) market, the Intel(r) Storage Server SSR212MC2 platform can be configured for a broad range of solutions, including NAS, SAN or application servers.

The Emulex 4Gb/s PCI Express LPe11000 and PCI-X LP11000 families of HBAs are supported and qualified for use with the Intel SSR212MC2 and customers may also leverage the Emulex HBAnyware for seamless upgrades and management of all the HBAs in the SAN. Coupled with Emulex HBAs, the Intel SSR212MC2 storage server offers a uniquely scalable architecture powered by the quad-core Intel(r) Xeon(r) processor 5300 series.
