IPv6 Basics for Beginners

After years of talk in the IT industry, IPv6 adoption is under way. The need for organizations to migrate to IPv6 gained some urgency two years ago when ARIN ran out of IPv4 addresses in its free pool. Yet billions of people use the internet today and many still are not aware of what Internet Protocol or IPv4 is, let alone IPv6. 

So for those new to IPv6, the folks at telecommunications company Wavedirect, put together an infographic to educate them on the basics. Newbies can learn how IPv6 compares to IPv4, the benefits it offers, and the risks of businesses not adopting IPv6.
