Altris introduced a pair of service-based management products this week designed to ease Windows Vista PC deployments.

The Altris Application Compatibility Suite finds problems that that might stall a migration while the Vista-ready version of Altris Deployment Solution automates the implementation process itself.Prior to a Vista deployment, the Altris Application Compatibility Suite checks the software running on a PC to verify the compatiblity of its software with Vista, then prepares the applications to run on Vista, the vendor said. The suite includes individual software pieces for application packaging, virtualization and user-rights control.

The Altiris Deployment Solution software then streamlines the implementation process and aims to keep downtime to a minimum during a Vista implementation through automation. The Deployment Solution provides a number of functions including OS deployment, configuration computer personality migration and software deployment.

Altiris is shipping the Deployment Solution for Vista now, priced from $47 per node. The Altris Application Compatibility Suite will be available next quarter.
