EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Compellent Technologies, Inc. (NYSE Arca: CML) today announced the availability of its Storage Center Command Set for Microsoft Windows PowerShell, designed to automate management and recovery of Compellent data storage and Windows enterprise environments including Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V platforms.

Compellent is one of the first storage area network (SAN) vendors to integrate Windows PowerShell scripting with the efficiency of virtualized storage to accelerate server and storage management.

For example, an enterprise deploying 50 new servers typically must image all the servers, provision storage volumes, create new user accounts and configure snapshots for backup and recovery -- a process that can be highly repetitive and manual. With Compellent's Command Set, administrators can create scripts with PowerShell commands ("cmdlets") to automate all the steps to significantly reduce the time and effort.

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- NetXen, Inc., the leader in volume 10-Gigabit Ethernet server connectivity, today launched a product evaluation program featuring its new line of Dual Port 10GbE and Quad Port 1GbE adapters, which provide industry-leading price/performance. The program gives qualified datacenter infrastructure managers a quick and easy way to evaluate NetXens newest Intelligent NICs® in their own network environments for 45 days with no obligation.NetXen's Dual Port 10Gb Ethernet SFP+ Adapters support the PCI Express (PCIe) 2.0 standard and are offered with pluggable SFP+ optical interface (SR) or direct attach copper twinax cabling options. With a list price of sub-$300 per port, they are the most cost-effective 10GbE adapters currently on the market.

The evaluation program also includes NetXen’s Quad 1GbE adapter, which is affordably priced at just $259 list. It is the industry’s only true native quad port design, not requiring a PCIe bridge to combine two dual port devices. The NetXen adapters are based on proven Intelligent NIC technology, whose quality and reliability has been hardened by OEMs such as HP and IBM, and the most strenuous end user deployments.

"Our new dual port 10GbE SFP+ adapters are highly cost-effective 10Gig NICs and ideal for server consolidation, virtualization and unified datacenter networks," said Chuck Tybur, vice president of worldwide sales for NetXen. "Now, by adding these products to our evaluation program, we're giving users the opportunity to test the next generation of Ethernet adapters. They will be able to validate 10Gig performance and functionality in their own environments and to empirically establish the cost savings benefits of deploying NetXen solutions for either 10GbE or 1GbE."
