SAN DIEGO -- Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM), a global leader in data storage and protection, today announced that Symantec Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers, the leading Windows data protection software for the mid-market, now natively supports all Iomega(R) REV(R) drive automation products, including the innovative desktop form factor Iomega REV Loader.

With this announcement, all REV 35GB* and REV 70GB drives, both single-disk and autoloader products, are now natively supported within Symantec Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers. Native support for single disk REV products has been available since November 2006; users of version 11d can download a software update to add full REV autoloader support.

"Iomega's REV backup and archive products are the only removable disk technology products with automation, and we couldn't be happier that dedicated Backup Exec users can now benefit from our REV Loader products'superior capabilities," said Tom Kampfer, President and COO, Iomega Corporation. "We have worked hard with the vendors of backup software to make the REV platform a seamless storage option that's compatible with all the leading small business backup software products. We're delighted that Symantec and its Backup Exec native REV support now covers all of Iomega's REV products. Users of Backup Exec now have a clear upgrade path from tape storage to the superior hard drive-based speed, usability and reliability of REV technology."

"Backup Exec has supported disk-based backups for years," said Pat Hanavan, Vice President of Product Management, Symantec Corporation. "Extending Backup Exec 11d support to Iomega's REV automation technology provides options as small businesses look to disk-based protection with the REV technology as a disk-based hard drive alternative to tape. Iomega's REV Loaders, when used with Backup Exec 11d, work like tape, meaning no retraining is required when combining these products for network backup and data recovery."
