Opsware on Monday rolled out a new version of its data center automation software at Interop Las Vegas 2006.

Version 6.0 of the Opsware Network Automation System (NAS) extends the platform's ability to set and repeat the network management processes of complex IT networks by adding support for VoIP systems, as well as four new policy enforcement tools, according to Opsware.

NAS 6.0 includes fields that let administrators dedicate automation tasks to VoIP systems. The software also now has tools that prevent unauthorized network changes, provide a better view of the network, bring improved policy enforcement and disaster recovery, and automatically initiate a lockdown where vulnerabilities have been detected.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Opsware in February licensed NAS for resale by Cisco Systems.
