AMHERST, N.Y. -- ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, today announced the introduction of two new host adapter products to its ExpressSAS product family. Building off of the ATTO ExpressSAS RAID adapters launched earlier this year, the ExpressSAS H380 and ExpressSAS H308 are new entries to the company's line of innovative host adapter products. The family expansion adds a cost effective, entry-level connectivity solution that delivers high-performance access to data for applications in DVA and IT infrastructures including high-definition video post-production, digital film production, digital prepress, tape backup, audio production, email compliance, data warehousing, data mining and transaction based environments.

Featuring a low-profile design, the ExpressSAS H380 and H308 adapters combine an eight-lane PCIe bus architecture with 3-Gb SAS technology to deliver data transfer rates of up 300MB/sec per port. With the integration of ATTO's exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADST) Technology and the leveraging of the IntelR IOC340 I/O SAS chip technology, the ExpressSAS host adapters have been designed to efficiently manage latencies and control the acceleration of data transfers for optimal performance in high-bandwidth environments. The ExpressSAS H380 offers cost-effective connectivity through two externalx4 MiniSAS SFF8088 connectors, while the H308 model utilizes two internal x4 MiniSAS SFF8087. Interoperable with a wide range of SAS and SATA storage devices including JBOD enclosures, tape libraries and RAID arrays, the ExpressSAS host adapters are capable of delivering the performance necessary to handle multiple layers of complex, uncompressed real-time effects, and edit high-definition video.

"ATTO has significant experience as a pioneer in the storage market, and today's announcement of the ExpressSAS family extension with our SAS/SATA low-profile host adapters with advanced management features demonstrates our commitment as a trusted industry leader," said Ed Tierney, director of marketing at ATTO Technology. "As we did with our SCSI product lines, we have taken the lead in delivering multi-vendor interoperability including WindowsR, Linux and MacR OS X. Taking advantage of the functionality in the Intel IOC340 I/O Processor, ATTO ExpressSAS Host Adapters deliver blazing-fast throughput and are the ideal solution for transactional database applications, email servers and large server farms as well as demanding video environments."
