SEATTLE -- Attenex Corp., a leading e-discovery software provider, today announced that Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE: CHK) has selected Attenex Patterns® E-Discovery Software for its in-house e-discovery processing and review tool. This will enable Chesapeake to quickly and thoroughly analyze massive amounts of electronic data and winnow it down to only the specific documents needed for their discovery business purposes. Attenex Patterns is an open software platform that lets corporations and their law firms establish standardized procedures for the processing and review phases of electronic discovery, providing dramatic reductions in the time, effort and costs associated with e-discovery.

“We selected Attenex Patterns because it delivers the functionality we need today, and provides the flexibility to adapt to our evolving discovery needs,” said Mikki Tomlinson, Litigation Support Lead for Chesapeake Energy Corporation. “We are integrating Attenex Patterns with the CT Summation litigation support application to really streamline and take control of the whole process.”

Increasingly, corporations are seeing that regulatory requests, compliance requirements, internal investigations, and litigation support are recurring events, and repeatable processes can be used to reduce the overall risk, cost and time associated with these activities. Attenex Patterns is a software foundation on which corporations can establish repeatable discovery processes, and many forward-thinking corporations, like Chesapeake, are opting to install this software to bring these processes under control.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation is the third largest independent producer of natural gas in the U.S. Headquartered in Oklahoma City, the company's operations are focused on exploratory and developmental drilling and corporate and property acquisitions in the Mid-Continent, Permian Basin, South Texas, Texas Gulf Coast, Barnett Shale, Ark-La-Tex and Appalachian Basin regions of the United States. “We’re pleased that Chesapeake Energy is joining our growing roster of corporate clients,” said Kimra Hawley, CEO for Attenex. “E-discovery is a complex, costly and time-intensive process. We’ve designed Attenex Patterns to bring order to the chaos of e-discovery and help customers find what’s relevant fast. As corporations seek out ways to take control of their discovery process, we expect to see more companies select Attenex for their e-discovery needs.”The Attenex Patterns e-discovery platform provides the technical foundation on which corporations can integrate e-discovery into their overall data management strategy and keep control of the e-discovery process, even when discrete steps in the process are outsourced to law firms or service providers. The product’s patented visualization and concept mapping capabilities help corporate legal departments and law firms more cost-effectively and accurately analyze documents to support the demands of investigations, regulatory compliance and litigation. The Attenex Patterns open API and software development kit (SDK) enable corporations to easily integrate Attenex Patterns with other applications as well as automate the loading of data, reducing time, expense and risk in the process.
