SAN FRANCISCO -- At Oracle OpenWorld 2007 next week, Crescendo Networks, a leader in application acceleration, will demonstrate its new Maestro ALP (Application Layer Processing) solution, which has been proven to successfully accelerate Oracle Siebel and PeopleSoft applications by up to 509 percent. Crescendo Networks recently commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate and test its unique multi-tier application acceleration product Maestro ALP. The innovative solution runs on the award-winning Maestro CN5500 platform and is the only acceleration product that targets and eliminates latency within multiple data center application tiers. The Tolly Group tested the performance of Maestro ALP in both an Oracle PeopleSoft and a Siebel environment. Testing demonstrated that the Crescendo solution delivered an improvement in response time of over 240 percent in a Siebel CRM environment and an improvement of over 500 percent in an Oracle PeopleSoft environment.

Maestro ALP represents a unique and innovative multi-gigabit, multi-tiered acceleration solution that intelligently and automatically learns application and transaction behaviors in order to eliminate points of latency within the application. The network appliance allows organizations to take control of application performance by proactively managing, reporting on, and optimizing application transaction traffic to improve data center throughput and end user response time.

This is the first asymmetric acceleration solution we have tested that is focused upon accelerating application delivery in a multi-tier environment,” said Kevin Tolly, CEO of The Tolly Group. “Often the true bottlenecks in application processing lie beyond the Web tier and this testing demonstrates that Crescendo’s ALP technology is focused on eliminating latencies that occur in tiers beyond the Web front end.”
