As the holidays approach, customer and tech support often become issues when we try to deal with all the new stuff arriving in our houses and businesses. Most large companies send you off to voice mail jail, doing their best to keep you from talking to an actual human being. Fortunately, you don't have to play along.The good folks at Get Human have constructed a list of 500 top companies, complete with contact numbers and instructions on how to escape voice mail jail and go direct to a human being. The list is searchable and sortable by category.

It's not new, but seems appropriate right now.

Of course, once you actually get a human, you're on you're own. Sometimes they can be just as obtuse as the voice mail machines.
