Hitachi Appoints McLean for Servers

BRISBANE, Calif. -- Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE:HIT - News; TOKYO:6501 - News), today announced that it has named former Hewlett Packard executive Lynn McLean as vice president of North American sales for the Hitachi America, Ltd., Server Systems Group (SSG). Ms. McLean will be responsible for leading all direct and indirect sales in North America for SSG.

Ms. McLean, who brings 22 years experience in the IT sector to the Hitachi America Server Systems Group, joins a division that launched its latest product, Hitachi Blade Symphony with Virtage, in late November 2006. The product began shipping in January 2007.

"Lynn brings both extensive experience and passion that will accelerate our organization's growth and positive track record with our customers today and tomorrow," said Elizabeth King, vice president and general manager of Hitachi America, SSG. "Lynn's many successful years of front line sales and sales leadership experience, along with her market expertise and understanding of the needs of the current enterprise data center, provides a valuable addition to our organization as we serve our enterprise customers directly and through the channel."
