NEW YORK -- Iron Mountain Digital, the technology arm of Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), today unveiled its IP Litigation Discovery Escrow Service at the LegalTech New York conference and exhibition, at booth # 2105 and 2107, where the service will be showcased along with eDiscovery solutions from Stratify, an Iron Mountain company.

Research analyst firm, Gartner, states, Litigation is counter-cyclical, and with more trouble in the economy, there will be more litigation.”[1] Iron Mountain has witnessed this trend as well, and developed its IP Litigation Discovery Escrow Service, or Discovery Escrow, in response to requests from patent litigation attorneys to better leverage intellectual property (IP) assets held in escrow. Discovery Escrow has been put into service bysome of the world’s most notable technology companies over the past year. Iron Mountain provides a neutral, secure and controlled environment that allows plaintiffs to access and examine the intellectual property in question, while eliminating the potential exposure and risk associated with defendants delivering that proprietary information directly to plaintiffs.

Iron Mountain’s Discovery Escrow service allows organizations to efficiently comply with the discovery provisions related to intellectual property litigation. As part of a mutually beneficial protective order to the court, the Discovery Escrow service helps to reduce the cost, response time, and risks that frequently accompany legal discovery. Leveraging Iron Mountain’s extensive national footprint of secure data protection vaults, the Discovery Escrow service is available over a broad geographic area, enabling the service to be delivered at locations that are conveniently located and agreeable to both parties.

“We recently used Iron Mountain’s IP Litigation Discovery Escrow Service for a case where the parties needed to produce their source code in New York, California, and Texas. Iron Mountain was able to provide us with a secure space in each location,” said Keana T. Taylor, an intellectual property attorney with Wong, Cabello, Lutsch, Rutherford & Brucculeri, L.L.P. “As a result, the needs of both parties’ counsel were met and the clients’ IP remained protected.”
