Now even car thieves have gone high-tech. They're using wireless-enabled laptops to break into high-priced cars with antitheft keyless ignition systems. Keyless entry and ignition systems rely on encrypted signals from an RFID-enabled key fob. Reportedly, the criminals were able to break the encryption scheme and send the appropriate signals from a laptop rather than a key fob.The perps who nicked Beck's Beemers aren't the only ones hacking keyless security systems. A car thief from the Czech Republic has stolen numerous cars using a similar technique.
